Nintendo has confirmed that the various issues encountered by owners of its Wii U, like lag when switching between menus or freezes when updating the firmware, will be fixed in the near future.

The Wii U was released on Sunday, November 18, in North America and, while there were no shortages or things like that, owners of the console have already started expressing their dissatisfaction with the device.

The main issues reported by users were lag when exploring the main menu of the console and downright freezes when trying to install the huge day-one firmware update.

Nintendo has now revealed on its support page that it is “aware that users are experiencing load times when they launch or switch between applications. We are exploring ways to enhance features for consumers' overall experience.”

In case users experience freezes and system lock-ups, Nintendo advises them to reset the Wii U by unplugging it from the wall outlet for 10 seconds and to install any system updates.

You can expect a few more statements about the Wii U’s issues to be made soon.
