Nintendo is not yet ready to talk about actual video games that will arrive on the Wii U home console, but the company believes that, when they are revealed, players will be impressed by the quality of the experiences currently under development.

Satoru Iwata, the man who fills both the president and the chief executive officer positions at Nintendo, has spoken to company investors and re-assured them by saying, “There is always a limit to our internal resources. The company now has to develop software for the Nintendo 3DS, has to prepare for the Wii U launch and has to finalize the hardware functionalities.”

He then went on to describe the launch line-up for the Wii U as solid even if he could not promise an overwhelmingly rich one.

Nintendo is expected to deliver more information on exactly what video games Wii U buyers will be able to pick up on launch day at the upcoming E3 2012 event.

Nintendo was heavily criticized for the way it handled the launch of the 3DS handheld, putting out the platform with minimal support and waiting until a price cut was in effect before delivering high-profile titles like Mario Kart 7, Monster Hunter 3G and Super Mario 3D Land.

Iwata added, “We have learned the lesson that we have to make that kind of preparation for the Wii U, or the Wii U will not gain enough momentum to expand its sales. At the E3 show this June, you will be able to experience not only Nintendo's Wii U software but also the titles being prepared by the third-party publishers.”

The Wii U will offer roughly the same performance as current generation consoles and developers like Vigil have promised that Darksiders II will run on it.

The new home console will be out before the end of the year on all major markets.
