Developer Vigil Games and publisher THQ have announced that the upcoming Wii U version of Darksiders II will be available when the console is launched in each territory and will include additional content that takes around five hours to play through.

The Wii U version of Darksiders II will include all the pre-order bonuses from the other editions of the game as well as what the developers called the first downloadable content expansion, called Argul’s Tomb, for players to explore.

The game will also use the new Wii U GamePad, using the touch screen in order to show the game map and the objectives while also allowing the player to get quick access to the inventory and the various abilities that they get throughout the game.

The gyro capabilities of the Wii U will also be employed in order to allow players to evade enemy attacks, control Death while he is swimming and riding a horse and move certain objects in the game world.

Ryan Stefanelli, the producer of Darksiders II, stated, “We are delighted that Wii U owners will be able to experience the vast world of Darksiders II at launch. The unique Wii U GamePad adds a whole world of possibility that we will be taking advantage of in this title.”

Darksiders II follows the exploits of Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as he tries to understand and then redeem War, his battle brother, who has been unfairly blamed for starting the Apocalypse.

Darksiders II has more battles, more exploration and more customization than the first game in the series.

The game received mostly positive reviews on other platforms, including one from Softpedia.

Darksiders II will be offered on the Wii U on November 18 in North America, November 30 in Europe and December 8 in Japan, although Nintendo has not confirmed the date for the home territory.
