Nintendo has apparently upgraded the CPU and GPU of the Wii U home console through the latest system firmware update, at least according to a new report on the web.

The Wii U was released back in November and, since then, owners have complained about the sluggish interface and some developers were upset by the reduced CPU speed.

Through the latest 3.0.0 firmware update, Nintendo has apparently upgraded the speed of both the CPU and the GPU.

The CPU has been improved from the 1.24 GHz stock frequency to a whopping 3.24 GHz.

The GPU has also been increased form the regular 550 MHz to 800 MHz.

The report arrives from a TV Tropes wiki member and its information can't be verified just yet.

Nintendo hasn't commented on this new rumor.
