The Wii Street U application, created by Nintendo and Google, is being updated by the two development teams in order to allow players to take their own pictures and then upload them to the service.

Users can also tag their images using a variety of words, giving all those who are exploring a particular location a simpler way to navigate it and discover its charms.

The Wii Street U application can be downloaded for free from the Nintendo eShop.

When the Wii U was launched, Nintendo talked about the wide appeal of the new device. Thus, the addition of non-gaming services makes the platform more attractive in the long term.

The new home console is not selling well at the moment and fans are speculating that a price cut might soon be implemented to revive its fortunes.
