Nintendo is always quick to capitalize on its fan base by providing Wii support to older titles. The Wii-mote wouldn't be a
otherwise. During the "Wii prove Our promise" speech at Leipzig Game Convention, Nintendo announced new sports titles coming to the platform. The new addition to the ever growing list of Wii sport titles is a Super Mario Strikers sequel called Super Mario Strikers: Charged. Battalion Wars 2, sequel to their best selling turn based strategy game, was also announced and should be available for play on the show floor.

Eurogamer reports that the game is visually similar to the previous entry, but that it now sports special moves for the Wii-mote. Mario, Donkey Kong, Bowser and Peach were selectable captains at Thunder Island stadium. The Mario Strikers: Charged demonstration showed elements from the game including the return of "super shots", made over for the Wii's unique control scheme. It appears you can hold the Wii controller up to block incoming shots with your hands. Nintendo game fun doesn't come from games alone thus, at some point, players are bound to strap the Wii-mote to one foot and go running through the room.

Fans and press alike expected Nintendo to dispel current rumors revolving around the Wii specs and price, since the games convention was the most suitable place. But the "Wii Prove Our Promise" speech didn't help much in the line of clarification, leaving speculations running wild over the internet. One has to admit though, free publicity is never to be dished out and that's exactly what this state of suspense is.
