Nintendo is no match for the skills of ninja, and information leaks again

Another bit of information regarding the Nintendo price drop on the Wii is flowing around the endless void that is the web. Beside all the recent appearances of all sort of advertisements that are to be laid out in retail stores, it seems the closest thing to an official statement has been released. Or at least the closest thing to an official statement without being an official statement. Let us elaborate.

Through gaming site Kotaku, Nintendojo relates about a retailer conference call in which the rumored price cut is to finally take effect on September 27. Nintendojo is a non-profit site, created and run by fans, that focuses on anything Nintendo-related. The website was founded by Peer Schneider in September 1996, who eventually left it and gave birth to IGN Entrainment, where he currently acts as Vice-President of Content Publishing.

The information appears to have been obtained in a very unscrupulous way, supposedly a member of Nintendojo listening on the call. This proves just how strong the Wii fan base is, if they can have a ninja intercepting Nintendo business calls. Fanatic and slightly sociopath, stalker tendencies, one might even say. Regardless, the bird has flawn the coop and, with an exact date even, the information looks believable, especially if we look through past Nintendojo tips, which turn out to be right on the money. Even so, Nintendo plays dead and mute and continues to abstain from an official statement.

The reason for its shyness boggles the mind, but we'll just have to trust Nintendo on this. Still, it doesn't have a reputation that other money-hungry gaming corporations like Microsoft, Activision or Blizzard, have, so we can only assume logic is implied. It is a profit-looking corporation, so it would be only normal that its decisions must follow a carefully laid-out plan by some humble, but ever-right, salary man working down in marketing.
