Nintendo replaces broken console

As the Nintendo Wii launch has just taken place, here come the first complaints about Nintendo's next-gen. Apparently, two gamers experienced problems with the Wiis. They broke down.

Broke down as in dead, finished, caput! The PS3's price may be twice as much as the Nintendo Wii's, but at least Sony next-gen doesn't break down! Kotaku has received by now just two mails that reported Wii related problems (I'm surprised that they were only two).

One of Wii gamers that wrote to Kotaku experienced trouble when he tried to configure the console's online settings. When he clicked the first connection profile the console shut down. He reset it, and nothing! It was dead! He tried calling the Nintendo service but the lines were busy (probably they were busy handling other complaints). He kept on trying and finally got through and it turns out that Nintendo will send him a brand new Wii.

The other email received by Kotaku wrote about disc read errors. Apparently, the "lucky" Wii owner was able to enjoy his console for about one hour. After that, the console started to show disc read errors and now it reads Wii games about five percent of the time.

If you have an Wii, I sincerely hope that this sort of trouble doesn't come your way.
