Oh, how some of you Wii gamers out there have been waiting for this moment to arrive! Finally, the Wii's Virtual Console makes room for one of the most beloved NES originals of all time: the original Metroid. Funny, isn't it? You'd expect a 2, or a 3, or a Prime or anything nowadays, but not sir, this is the origianal, and it was simply called Metroid. The second title available now for download is the SNES original, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting. Man, is this the best way to end the week or
what?

A combination of action adventure and platform shooter, players assume the role of Samus Aran, a space bounty hunter, who is set the mission of saving the universe from the spread of 'Metroids', the most dangerous creatures in the galaxy. Using Samus' trademark Morph Ball ability, players must search every nook and cranny of the planet Zebes and defeat the leader of the Space Pirates, Mother Brain, to restore peace to the galaxy once more. Available for 500 Wii Points, Metroid is out of this world and available now on Virtual Console.

Next up on Virtual Console this week is the much-loved Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting for Super Nintendo. Following the highly successful Capcom title Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, originally released in 1993, boasts faster game play than its predecessor, as well as new and upgraded moves for each of the fighters. It also gives players the opportunity to fight as powerful bosses including Sagat, Balrog and M. Bison! So make sure your moves are ready for ultimate combat as Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting launches on the Virtual Console for 800 Wii Points!

Also as previously announced this week, Silent Debuggers, a unique first-person action adventure title, originally launched for the Turbografx in 1991, is up on VC and ready to be downloaded for 600 Wii Points! So leave a comment and tell us this isn't the best Virtual Console week ever.

Last weeks VC update with paper mario was a hundred times better, I already have this on my copy of metroid prime for the GC which I can play on the Wii...plus the original Metroid is a bit rusbbish.
Then theres Street fighter a tired series that has been bettered and re released so many times i have lost count so no this is definitly not one of the best weeks for the VC.
