Wii 'Cooled Down' by Nyko

- Not that the console desperately needed and intercooler, but why not play at optimum conditions?

By: Filip Truta, Games Editor

Nyko
Technologies
, peripherals manufacturer, has just shipped the new Intercooler for Wii. Didn't know that the Wii had heating issues, but the more stuff they make available for it, the better, right? And even if your Wii doesn't get hot to the point it malfunctions, it's better just to keep it running under optimal conditions, don't you agree?

Here's how this intercooler works for you. First of all, it clips easily onto the back of the Wii, meaning there is no complicated installation or modification necessary. Second of all, Niko has confirmed that this patented design also leaves all of the inputs on the back of the console free and easily accessible, so adding this accessory to your Wii won't result in you having to manage without any of the machine's features.

The peripheral manufacturer has thought this accessory out so well that it even took into consideration "image conscience" gamers. If that's you, don't worry about a thing because the intercooler comes in a special "décor" that matches the aesthetic of the Wii itself. It can even be used when the console is in a horizontal or vertical position, all this to ultimately just increases the rate of hot air flowing out of the vents, resulting in a console that runs at considerably lower temperatures.

"The release of the Intercooler for Wii marks Nyko's third Intercooler product for this current generation of consoles," said Chris Arbogast, marketing manager at Nyko Technologies. "Due to popular demand from consumers who were impressed with the original intercooler models for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 we created the Intercooler for Wii which we feel will be as equally praised for its ability to keep the Wii running at appropriate temperature levels."

Niko has confirmed that the Intercooler for Wii is currently available at US retailers going for $14.99, or at Nyko's online store right here.
