Indian OEM WickedLeak recently announced the upcoming availability of its Wammy Note 4, another cheap smartphone that should go on sale next week.

According to a new report, WickedLeak Wammy Note 4 will be available for purchase beginning June 15 for a price that will be announced closer to release.

The good news is that the smartphone comes with 4G LTE support for both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE bands, which is very important since Indian carriers own network bands in both spectrums.

While WickedLeak has already teased the smartphone through its official social network channels, the full specs of the Wammy Note 4 have yet to be confirmed.

The good news is the Indian company is known for putting some top-of-the-line hardware in some of its handsets, though they are usually complemented by disappointing specs.

KitKat is a bit obsolete for high-end devices

In this case, the only disappointing thing that we have learned is the fact that WickedLeak Wammy Note 4 might ship with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box.

Although the smartphone certainly meets the minimum requirement to run Android 5.0 Lollipop, it's unclear whether or not the Indian OEM plans to offer such a software update in the future.

We also know that the Wammy Note 4 will boast a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the inside, the handset has been confirmed to pack 3GB of RAM and a large 5,330 mAh battery, which should offer great battery life.

Unfortunately, there are no details on the chipset inside, though rumor has it that Wammy Note 4 will be powered by a 64-bit octa-core or quad-core processor.

No word on camera either, but we do know it will come with microSD card slot for memory expansion and dual-SIM support. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
