Reducing the cost of mobile calls

WiFiMobile has launched a Mobile VoIP service that will work on Nokia S60 cell phones and will allow users to make free calls over WiFi regardless of where they are. Even in the case that no WiFi connection is available, users will still be able to make VoIP calls through a network operator's data plan.

When not in WiFi coverage, the call can be placed through a conventional GSM service, being routed over an existing 3G data plan. In both cases, the VoIP calls will not eat up any of the bundled voice minutes.

The service was also developed to be very easy to use by most types of phone owners. There's no need for manual configuration of complicated parameters, with the whole process being as easy as entering an existing phone number and receiving a text. Corporate users will also find several benefits to the service as it will allow them to immediately use their Nokia S60 handset as an extension to their corporate IP PBX. Thus, IT/Telecom Managers will be able to continually control their company's mobile phone costs and reprogram VoIP parameters for all their employees' phones at the touch of a button.

Founder and CEO Gerry O'Prey says: "Thanks to WiFiMobile gone are the days of having to configure complicated SIP settings. Just go on our web site enter your details and your mobile will have VOIP service or be connected to your corporate IP PBX at the touch of a button. This will make mobile VOIP a reality for both the employee and IT Manager". The WiFiMobile service is now available and can be downloaded from here.
