On Tuesday, Best Buy and HTC announced the official arrival of the Wi-Fi only version of the HTC Flyer tablet at all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile standalone stores, as well as on the online on the retailer's website, starting with this spring. The new device, which is being showcased at CTIA Wireless, comes in a light-weight form factor, and offers a great mobile experience powered by Android and HTC's new Sense UI, designed specifically for tablet PCs. Videos, music, games seem even more appealing on HTC Flyer.

“Over the past few months we’ve seen several new tablets enter the market, and we’re especially excited to partner with HTC to bring the Wi-Fi version of the HTC Flyer to our customers as a national retail launch exclusive,” said Scott Anderson, head of merchandising for Best Buy Mobile.

“We have worked hard to bring a large assortment of great tablets to Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores, and the HTC Flyer is a great example of that effort.”

The new device comes to the market with a strong aluminum unibody case, while boasting a 7" 1024 x 600 display with multi-touch capability, complemented by an optional digital pen for taking synchronized notes and annotating content.

The tablet benefits from the unique HTC Scribe technology, as well as from Timemark, through which handwritten notes taken with the digital pen are synchronized with audio.

The specifications list of the new device would also include 5 MP Color CMOS camera with auto focus, complemented by a 1.3MP front camera for video chatting, as well as 16GB eMMC memory and microSD card slot for expanding the available storage space.

The tablet also comes with built-in dual microphones for noise reduction, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, the Android operating system, Adobe Flash 10.1 support, and a 4,000 mAh battery for extended usage time.
