Launched in Asia almost a year ago, the original Galaxy Tab has finally hit shelves in India. However, Samsung decision to launch this rather obsolete tablet is weird to say the least.

To make things even more awkward, the handset maker priced the Wi-Fi Galaxy Tab at Rs 19,999 (375 USD or 290 EUR), which is extremely high for such an old device.

In this regard, Motorola has just decided to discount its XOOM Wi-Fi and 3G tablets and is offering the former for Rs 21,500 (400 USD or 310 EUR), and the latter for Rs 25,000 (470 USD or 360 EUR).

In addition, Samsung confirmed last year that it will not push Ice Cream Sandwich to original Galaxy Tab, which makes the tablet even more unproductive.

We recommend Android fans who are looking for a slate to purchase a Motorola XOOM tablet, which will certainly receive the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade later this year.
