Almost every day I come across newcomers, but lately the abundance of names has started to piss me of. It's like everyone simply wakes up in the morning with an idea and thinks it can change the world. And in 90% of the cases, it turns out to be a hoax. Hopefully, this case can be integrated in the remaining 10%.

Autonet Mobile, a wireless technology company, is preparing to make an announcement in which they will reveal details about the upcoming contract with Avis Rent-A-Car System. The goal of this collaboration is to provide mobile (or should I say rolling?) Wi-Fi for Avis Customers. The new offer coming from Avis will probably enter the roadmaps at the beginning of March with $10.95 charged for a day. The company will offer a portable, notebook-sized device that you can plug into the cars power supply and can offer you internet access on the go.

The only problem here lies in the absence of hot-spots in some area but in most of the cases you will be able to remain online. EV-DO or/and EDGE are offered as standard depending on the provider and the network, so the connection will be limited by the low speed. On the other hand, wherever you'll have sufficient signal on your cell phone, you'll also be able to connect to internet.

Each unit is expected to cost $399 ($49 are added for a monthly service fee). Preorders can be made right now. But keep in mind that this offer is mainly intended for businessmen for the time being. Regarding this issue, Autonet has stated that the company does plan on making it available for families also, but not in the near future.

If you plan on signing to such an offer, you'll have to remember this. The offer is aimed at the passengers, not at the driver because it can draw your attention from driving. Users will have to sign an additional contract in which they agree not to hold the company responsible in case of an accident. That being said, enjoy!
