After so much waiting, the Archos fans can finally purchase the Archos 605 version of their favorite player online, for a price tag of around 400 bucks, not cheap at all, but still worthy. However, it seems they'll have to wait until September the 1st to get one of their own, as the company is preparing itself for major sales.

At the beginning of the month the player was announced as the proud owner of a brand new FCC stamp of approval, which certificated its impressive list of technical specification. Not to mention the player was already good news, since it included even the popular YouTube support among its impressive features.

Archos released its fifth generation of portable media players last month, when the company announced that the Archos 605 WiFi was leading the line of the new series. To remind you a few things, the portable media player is capable of using wireless connectivity to stream videos into the player or out to a TV. Back then, the electronics critics stated that the media player packed a lot of features that announced a possible winner on the market.

The 4.3 inch touch sensitive screen allowed easy interaction with the player's interface. But the best part is that the player allows easy wireless connectivity to surf the web, share content with the loved ones and view videos from a lot of web sites.

The 605 version comes in three huge storage capacity versions, such as 30GB, 80Gb and 160GB. But, in order to make it more affordable, the manufacturers prepared some 4Gb flash version of the player, which are said to be quite appealing to the young consumer, and active lifestyle people.

I was kind of surprised to hear that the PMP has popped up on Amazon, since the manufacturers were quite secretive regarding the manufacturing strategy they were planning.

The conclusion: some Koren underground electronics companies should learn something from the French. "Tres bien!", Archos!
