The organization wants people to celebrate Easter by eating a vegan meal

The people attending this year's Easter parade in Philadelphia's Street Headhouse District might get the chance to come face to face with the billboard featured in the picture above.

This is because PETA wishes to see a vehicle showing this particular image of a slaughter-bound pig take part in the parade. “Why hast thou forsaken me? For Christ's sake, go vegan,” the pig asks and urges ordinary folks.

Presently, PETA is waiting for the executive director of the Street Headhouse District to grant them permission to have said pro-vegan vehicle take part in the parade.

“Jesus asked his followers to have mercy for the meekest among us. And no species on Earth are in need of that mercy more than the pigs, chickens, cows, and other animals routinely abused on factory farms and sent to a painful and terrifying death to feed humans,” the organization says.
