A study guessing the iPhone's success

Digital Life America has taken high interest in establishing who the real buyers of Apple's iPhone will turn out to be. They have just made public the results of their research and the information is quite interesting.

As it seems, almost three quarters of the iPhone buyers will be men. This may not come as such a big surprise, considering the fact that the iPhone is rather a high-tech marvel than an elegant accessory. Its lines, although simple and stylish, are a bit rough and lack the feminine elegance. Even more, most smartphone owners are male, which will be the same case with the iPhone too.

Another thing which Digital Life America's study has revealed is that the average age for the iPhone owner will be that of 31 years old. This number has been reached after making a medium of all ages of the people who declared that they intend on purchasing this smartphone. Actually, there was about the same percentage of buyers in all age ranges from 15 to 49 years, showing the same amount of interest among people of this age.

Almost half of the potential iPhone buyers currently own an iPod. The number is quite high, but easy to understand, considering the fact that many of these declare themselves to be Apple fans.

Even more, the average household income has been set at USD 75,000 which is more than 25 percent higher than the national average. We would have not expected it to be any other way, considering the fact that the iPhone's price varies from USD500 for the 4GB version and up to USD600 for the 8GB one.

Last but not least, 15 percent of all potential buyers have declared that they would prefer to buy the iPhone from T-Mobile carrier, while little fewer might prefer AT&T provider. How much these figures will actually translate into reality there is left to see. We'll just have to wait for an after-launch study.
