'Hollywood Reporter' informs that the CW has finally ordered eight one-hour episodes of reality show aimed at finding a brand new member for the band of sexy ladies The Pussycat Dolls. The project has been under discussion ever since earlier spring and an approximate release date has been announced for the 2006-2007 season.
The search will be nation wide and a few lucky finalists will be selected and, in the reality-show-style, put to live together in the same house. The contenders will have to prove they are worthy to be the next Pussycat by displaying a rocking body, dancing and singing skills and much more.
The CW president of entertainment said that 'at its core, this show goes beyond just finding a new Pussycat Doll; it's about female empowerment, self-discovery and personal transformation'. The finalists will be trained by the original creator of the band, Robin Antin and by the other six members.
Also, it has been announced that some footage from the show 'The Search For the Next pussycat doll' will be aired live, without any editing.
Although rather new on the music stage, the band started out almost ten years ago as a group of dancers that along the way included stars like Carmen Electra, Christina Aguilera and Christina Applegate. But it was their debut album, 'PCD', released last September that brought them universal fame, by selling more than 5 million copies worldwide.
