Why for some of the shoppers Christmas comes on December 12? Because they turn their faces to online purchase of goods and gifts, and, of course, a lot of time will be needed for the goods to be delivered.

A change in the shopping manners is expected to be seen this year, because more and more people plan to do their shopping via Internet. As the
retailers are facing a kind of depressing situation, the online retailing sees an outburst.

60% of the retailers in UK say their sales are most likely to stagnate or fall this Christmas. This is said in a Christmas Retail Survey made by Deloitte. Last year, the percent of the retailers who were expected to have this problem was of 35%.

Research firms from The United States are likely to see growth in sales by a fifth to a quarter. But in UK, where people are still a little bit more traditional, the growth could be around 40%, according to a lobby group, IMRG.

In its survey, Deloitte attests that only 6% of the consumers in the UK will do their shopping online, but despite this low percent, still this represents a 50% increase on 2004.

The study also says that, if one year ago 67% percent of the people surveyed replied that they did not want to do the shopping on the Internet, today only half would answer alike.

David MacDonald, Head of Retail Advertising at Google UK says: "This Christmas, people who shop online spend more, and people who never spent money online are coming online".

The people who spend more money are not young , but the ones that are around 45 to 54 years of age, the Deloitte survey attests.
