That's right. Who knew the 2007 Microsoft Office System could be funny? Well, the
New Day, New Office website for Microsoft Office United Kingdom manages to mix the latest suite from the Redmond
Company with a touch of humor. I know, I know. The British humor is holding you back from giving it a go. But it shouldn't, because this is pure gold. I have just finished watching all four videos available and just trust me, it's worth it.
The concept is focused on the revolutionary technology delivered by the 2007 Office System. The four videos applaud the Ribbon, the new graphical user interface in Office 2007, the enhanced search and organizing capabilities of the suite, the new Open XML file formats introduced with the latest release of Office and the overall performance enhancements that the product will deliver.
Microsoft is not timid in promising you that the Ribbon will capture your attention to the extent where you will forget about everything else that surrounds you. Even if the whole building has caught fire. However, the video is done with a lot of good taste, and ultimately it is funny, the British accent of the commentator also contributing to the overall atmosphere.
Office 2007 will also have all the data you need just a few key strokes away, and will contribute to safeguarding you from the formatting nightmare, once the Open XML will be ratified as an ISO standard. But most importantly, Office 2007 will bring mom back home in time for dinner, even though you'll try and defend yourself with "nothing but a soggy vegetable."
