Whitney Houston and ex husband Bobby Brown are worried that their only child, the 17-year-old Bobbi Kristina, may be stepping in their drug-troubled steps – and have staged an intervention to get her to rehab, it has emerged.
PopCrunch reports that the latest issue of the National Enquirer, the print issue, has it from very reliable sources that the two parents are so concerned about Bobbi’s lifestyle and how it seems to be spinning
out of control, that they staged an intervention.
A couple of weeks ago, MediaTakeOut ran photos of the teenager smoking and drinking alcohol with friends, in what celebrity bloggers were quick to describe as “pulling a Miley [Cyrus].”
Presumably, it was these photos that showed to Whitney and Bobby that Bobbi may be in trouble. Since they have a very long and well documented history of drug and alcohol addiction, they want to make sure their daughter doesn’t go through the same.
“Whitney and Bobby sat Bobbi Kristina down and read her the riot act,” a family friend tells the Enquirer in the December 20 print issue.
“They brought in counselors and they’re trying to drum into her that because of their problems, she’s genetically predisposed to alcoholism and drug addiction,” says the spy.
“They’ll do anything to spare Bobbi Kristina from the substance abuse hell they’ve both experienced,” the insider further reveals.
Admittedly, Whitney and Bobby decided to act now because they don’t want to find themselves in a position when the situation is completely out of control – and things are certainly heading there, from how Bobbi has been acting lately.
“Whitney and Bobby are torn because they don’t want to alienate their daughter and overact, but they realize she’s at risk for serious addiction problems, just like them,” the same inside dishes for the Enquirer.
“They’re dealing with these issues as a family, and they’re praying it’s not too late to get Bobbi Kristina back on track,” says the snitch.
