Simple, elegant and breathtaking

Whitney Houston has been through hell in recent years, but the diva is now back and ready to tell the entire world about her struggle. This is what the “I Look to You” comeback album is all about, and this is also the main theme of the leading single with the same name. For it, the singer has chosen to release a simple, yet extremely beautiful, video that was first posted on her official webpage.

Whitney has always been the kind of performer that can pull off an entire video where nothing else is shown, as “I Look to You,” the music video, is the best example of that. Nothing better to accompany a powerful ballad of rising from the ashes and finding faith again than a simple and elegant video, where the focus falls entirely on Whitney – always the ultimate, sophisticated lady.

The video initially sees Whitney, dressed in a flowing, floor-length, silk dress, seated as she sings about being “lost without a cause.” Moments later, as the chorus begins, she is bathed in golden light as the smile returns to her beautiful face. As the pace of the song picks up, she stands, only to be covered in a shower of flower petals later. Close shots of Whitney show the face of a woman who has found hope again, but it’s only the end of the video that reveals who the “You” in the song might be (for those who haven’t yet realized, that is), as the star lifts her hands and gaze towards the light coming as if from the sky.

We recently informed you that, as part of her grand comeback scheme, Houston was preparing a double surprise for her ever-loyal fans, with the release of two brand-new videos. One would be for “I Look to You,” which is already out as we speak, and the other for “Million Dollar Bill,” reports had it. If that be the case, this means the world will get another Whitney video in about two weeks from today, since word in the industry had it that she would time the releases over a period of a fortnight.

However, fans should remember that this is just a rumor at this point, even if coming from extremely reliable sources in the industry. Keep an eye on this space for more on this and, in the meantime, enjoy the video below for Whitney Houston’s “I Look to You.”
