Microsoft is seeking to identify and then prosecute a leaker called ntkrnl, which has recently offered a range of information about the Xbox One and its upcoming hardware and video games launches.

Kotaku says that the company is unhappy that potential future plans have been revealed to the general public and wants to make sure that similar problems do not appear in the future.

The potential legal action does not mean that any of the information offered by the source is true.

The biggest announcement coming from ntkrnl is that Microsoft is getting ready to launch a white version of the Xbox One in October of this year, after initially only making it available to employees.

He has also suggested that Forza Horizon 2 will be launched in September and that an Anniversary version of Halo 2 will be released on the new home console in November.
