Starting with yesterday, mobile phone users in Australia can purchase a new flavor of the Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone in their country.

The handset was made available for purchase on the Australian market in black and cyan in early March, and the white version is now up for grabs in the country as well.

The new flavor of the device is being sold through various resellers in the country, as well as via wireless carrier Telstra.

“The wait is over. The white Nokia Lumia 800 is available from today through Telstra and selected retailers,” Nokia Australia announced in a recent tweet.

Since launch, the Lumia 800 has enjoyed strong sales on the local market, and is expected to continue to benefit from great traction from users.

In fact, Nokia’s Windows Phones appear to be selling well all around the world. To make sure that this continues, Nokia also fired up its marketing engine for these devices.

In Australia, Nokia is running an augmented reality campaign for the marketing of its Lumia devices, and is using Rovio’s Angry Birds for that.

At the moment, Australians can purchase the Nokia Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 devices in the country, but it should not be too long before Nokia’s latest Windows Phones, the Lumia 610 and Lumia 900, also arrive on shelves down under.

The White flavor of Nokia Lumia 800 that landed on the market yesterday packs all of the features and capabilities that the black and cyan versions included.

Thus, users will enjoy a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, along with a 1.4GHz application processor and 16GB of internal memory (the phone does not include a microSD memory card slot to expand the available storage space).

Moreover, the handset packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for video recording, as well as various connectivity capabilities, including 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and the like.
