Verizon Wireless revealed last week plans to release a white-themed Motorola DROID RAZR, but did not disclose any details regarding the phone’s exact launch date.

Today, the carrier came forward with a formal statement announcing the availability of the white DROID RAZR beginning December 15.

The smartphone will go for the same price as the standard black version, so customers should expect to get the white flavor of the DROID RAZR for no less than $299.99 (225 EUR) with a new two year agreement.

However, customers who choose to commit to a long term contract will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless plan beginning at $39.99 (30 EUR) monthly access and a smartphone data package starting at $30 (22 EUR) monthly access for 2 GB of data.

Furthermore, for a limited time, Verizon offers customers who purchase the white DROID RAZR with a new two-year agreement $100 off a DROID XYBOARD tablet, which was recently introduced in the United States by the Big Red.

According to Verizon “the DROID RAZR not only shreds through the Web at blazing 4G LTE speeds, it does it in style with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display, measuring 7.1 mm thin.”

Motorola’s Android flagship smartphone is equipped with a powerful dual core TI OMAP 4430 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit.

Just like the standard black version, the white DROID RAZR features KEVLAR fiber, Corning Gorilla Glass and splash-guard coating. LTE and Wi-Fi support are included as well, along with Wi-Fi hotspot and HDMI port.

Specs-wise, the DROID RAZR packs 16GB onboard memory, 1GB or RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 16GB memory card included).

More importantly, the smartphone is powered by Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system and is planned for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in early 2012.
