Rogers to have it soon as well

Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has already been rumored to come to the market with a white version of its BlackBerry Bold handset, and now it is official. Moreover, the smartphone also has a carrier to release it, as well as a launch date, and these are AT&T and October 18. Officially, the wireless operator will have the white flavor of the device available for purchase starting with this Sunday.

As for the price tag of the handset, is seems that it will be the same as the black version, namely $199.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier and after rebate. As Engadget notes, the white BlackBerry Bold looks quite attractive, and that might be worth spending that amount of money on a device that is already one year old.

And since we're talking about the white Bold, we should also mention that some of the latest reports on the Internet show that it will also reach the Canadian mobile phone market, on the airwaves of Rogers Wireless. BGR is the one to bring the news on the handset's availability in Canada, yet it provides no details on when the phone will be put on sale.

However, due to the near availability of the white BlackBerry Bold in the US, we should expect for Rogers to have it on the shelves quite soon. The handset has been spotted in Best Buy Canada’s internal inventory system, which also shows that Bell will launch the BlackBerry Bold 9000, only that it will have it available in black.

Considering the fact that the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is reportedly only a few weeks away, it comes rather as a surprise that Bell will release the black Bold on its airwaves. The while Bold doesn't make too much sense either, yet one should agree that it looks well enough to make an impression. We might also witness a price drop for the older device as soon as Bold 2 arrives, so keep your fingers crossed.
