Crysis Wars, Crysis Warhead, World in Crysis or Crysis Warzone?

At some point in time, Crytek decided to trademark everything in the world that might, sometime in the future, serve as a name for a Crytek-made game. Initially, they only thought of Crysis Wars, Crysis Warhead and World in Crysis. It somehow made sense, seeing how the game basically sets it all up for a sequel and how some of the developers said that three games had been planned from the beginning of the development cycle. But now Crytek has also gone out and trademarked Crysis Warzone, so speculation is riding high regarding their plans.

And just yesterday, in one of the threads on their forums, community manager Cry-Alex (which is as ridiculous a username as can be) stated, in a monthly update, that there would be no 1.3 patch for the game. Cry-Alex has revealed that the company is sorry for the fact that no updates will make their way to the game, but it's using all of its available resources to work on a new, unannounced project which is connected to the Crysis franchise and that will surely make fans very happy.

It seems that this is pretty much a sequel announcement without naming names. Some people have talked about the possibility of a Xbox 360 or of a PlayStation 3 version of the game but most of the time console ports are handled by third party companies. Support for a game does not cease because of a console port, if Crytek is doing this the old-fashioned way.

Only if development shifted to a sequel or an add-on of the game, not making any more patches would seem normal. After all, an add-on integrates a lot of changes in itself and is a bit of a mega patch. So, while eagerly awaiting more information from the company itself, we can safely say that Crytek is working on some pretty big Crysis related content. The only question now is how they choose to name it.

To add more fuel to the speculation fire, there's a semi-interesting page on the Crytek website depicting Psycho from the original game with a gun and looking scared. We're hoping for more official news now.
