It's nothing compared to the Oscars and, yet, the MTV Movie Awards ceremony manages to get together such a mingle of stars and genres that it always becomes a huge fuss. Although the tradition of the red carpet was preserved by MTV almost every year, in 2006 it was replaced by a blue one, but that didn't imply that glamour was not to be found at every corner.
After the stars' parade and tons of absolutely witty commentaries, the ceremony finally began. It was hosted by hottie Jessica Alba, featuring music performances by Christina Aguilera, AFI and Gnarls Barkley and even parodies of 'King Kong', 'Mission Impossible III' and 'The DaVinci Code', interpreted by the very hostess. The winner by a majority of votes, awarded "Best Movie" golden popcorn trophy was last summer's hit

movie 'The Wedding Crashers'. Other awards also included "Best Hero"- Christian Bale for his part in 'Batman Begins', "Best Kiss"- Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger for their steamy gay scene in 'Brokeback Mountain' and "Best Fight Scene"- Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in 'Mr. And Ms. Smith'.
The ceremony is scheduled to air on Thursday, the 8th of June, at 8 PM, on MTV and it will also include, besides the actual show, unseen footage of backstage diaries, interviews with the night's winners and losers, and the known red/blue carpet fashion parade.
