14 DAY TRIAL // One of the features that WhatsApp is expected to add to its messaging service in the not too distant future is voice calling, and it seems that users will receive it very soon, at least this is what the latest reports on this suggest.
The feature is expected to become available for the owners of Android and iOS devices out there at first, with Windows Phone and BlackBerry set to receive it a bit later, as WPCentral notes.
WhatsApp already confirmed plans on the matter during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, but did not provide specific info on when we might see the functionality rolling out.
However, new strings have been discovered in the application recently, namely Hang up, Incoming call, and Outgoing call, which suggests that the feature is actually pretty close.
The info comes from people who volunteered to translate WhatsApp to Hindi. The new translation requests were received this week, it seems.
WhatsApp has not provided specific info on which regions should receive access to the new voice calling feature, but it appears that users in India will be able to enjoy it sooner rather than later.
However, it remains to be seen how fast Windows Phone and BlackBerry users receive access to it as well, following the initial roll out on Android and iOS.
