Android and BlackBerry fans that are using WhatsApp Messenger as their main means of communication can already make use of the voice calling feature that's been promised by developers for quite a long time.

According to WhatsApp developers, the highly anticipated voice calling function will land on iOS platform as well, but an exact release date hasn't been confirmed yet.

As expected, Windows Phone will probably be the last mobile operating system to receive the new feature probably due to the low market share.

We reported earlier this month that WhatsApp confirmed the voice calling feature for Windows Phone is already in the works and that it will arrive very soon.

Today, more evidence that voice calling is very close to be implemented into WhatsApp for Windows Phone has just emerged online.

Voice calling might arrive on Windows Phone with the next update

The folks over at WMPoweruser have just spotted a new collection of phrases which are supposed to be translated before being introduced in the final version of WhatsApp Messenger.

The list of translated words contains several that indicate voice calling feature might be included in the next update for WhatsApp for Windows Phone.

Unfortunately, there's no telling whether or not developers will first offer the new feature to beta testers and then make it available to general public a few weeks after.

Anyway, the good news is voice calling feature is already on its way to WhatsApp for Windows Phone. It will be interesting to see if WhatsApp will bring this important function to Windows Phone before making it available to iOS users.

In other news, WhatsApp has just announced that it now has more than 800 million users on all mobile platforms, which is a major achievement considering that the company confirmed no less than 500 million users back in January 2015.
