WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging apps and services on mobile devices, has just received a new update on Windows Phone handsets and is now available for download as version 2.11.494.0.

According to the release notes attached to the new app iteration, those who will download and install it will receive various enhancements and bug fixes, though no specific details on them have been provided.

One thing that is certain, however, is the fact that users will receive a better experience than before, which proves WhatsApp’s commitment to making its customers happy.

The new app refresh comes only days after WhatsApp returned to availability in the Windows Phone Store, after being pulled from it for about two weeks or so.

Apparently, the previous version of the application included a series of issues with its notifications system, which conflicted with the settings that Microsoft packed inside the latest platform released out there, namely Windows Phone 8.1.

Thus, WhatsApp decided to remove its application from the official store in order to resolve the aforementioned problem. It needed about two weeks for that, but the application was made available for download once again at the end of the last week.

You can download WhatsApp for Windows Phone from Softpedia today. The app is compatible with all devices running under Windows Phone 7.5 and up.
