It looks like WhatsApp has major plans for its Windows Phone application, which is likely to receive lots of new features in the coming weeks.

We have reported over the last couple of weeks on the upcoming features that WhatsApp Messenger for Windows Phone will be getting in future updates and today we have a new one.

WMPoweruser reports that one of MobileFlip.de’s readers who is a WhatsApp translator has just been approached by developers of the application with a request that is detailed below:

“Thank you for translating WhatsApp into German. We recently added some new strings that have yet to be translated from English into German. Here is what we need help with:

tone for group chats notification tones notifications tones for individual chats”

Apparently, WhatsApp for Windows phone will be getting custom notification sounds, which are not available at the moment. Obviously, there’s no telling when exactly the new feature will be pushed to the general public, but we expect it to come very soon.
