WhatsApp delivered the first important update for its Android application on Google Play Store a few days ago. It was the first aimed at users of the final version of WhatsApp in a long time.

The company recently acquired by Facebook mostly spends its time squashing bugs, tweaking and improving WhatsApp Messenger.

However, before delivering these changes to the general public, the developers release beta versions, which are tested by users until all the bugs are identified and addressed.

WhatsApp usually releases several beta versions of its application before updating the final iteration on Google Play Store. Today, the company has launched version 2.11.240, which hasn’t been pushed to Play store.

According to the official changelog, the update only brings some “miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements.” No additional details are shared, so we must assume that there are no new features introduced in this version.

Given the fact that it’s now available on Google Play Store, users can now download WhatsApp Messenger for Android 2.11.240 for free via Softpedia. The application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.1 and up.

Keep in mind that this is a beta version, so the application might be unresponsive at times. We do not recommend installing it unless you plan on testing stuff and offer your feedback to the developers.
