The good folks over at WhatsApp have just released a new version of their instant messaging client for Android devices, which seems to bring new features and improvements to the application.

Unfortunately, there’s no telling how many changes have been included in this version, as developers have yet to update the changelog posted on Google Play Store.

The good news is that this update has been pushed onto Google Play, so those who already have a previous version installed on their devices can simply download the latest iteration directly from their devices.

WhatsApp usually releases weekly updates for its beta version of WhatsApp Messenger for Android, but they don’t have any changelogs attached to it and they are only available via the developer’s website.

From what we have noticed, the latest version of WhatsApp comes with widgets, which can be placed on the home screen for quicker access to the application.

Aside from that, it’s possible that many under the hood changes included in the previous beta versions of WhatsApp to be part of this stable iteration as well. If you notice any other changes that we have missed, please post them in the comments area.

You can now download WhatsApp Messenger for Android 2.11.184 for free via Google Play store. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.1 and up.

[UPDATE]: WhatsApp have also introduced Privacy options, which can be accessed via Settings / Account / Privacy. This allows users to predefine who they wish to see them when they were last online or who can see their profile photo.

Users can also select who can see their Status, as well as block contacts from the Contacts list.
