Following WhatsApp's recent acquisition by Facebook, the former released a new version of its Android messaging application.

With more than 450 million users, WhatsApp Messenger is one of the most popular messaging services available on the market. The service is available on all mobile platforms, including Android, iOS and Windows Phone.

WhatsApp Messenger for Android has just received a slight update to version 2.11.169, and according to Reddit user Ro0oter it brings the option to disable the "Last seen at ..." feature, along with user's profile picture and status update.

The new version of WhatsApp has only been released on the developer's website, so you won't find it on Google Play Store for the moment.

However, you can now download WhatsApp Messenger for Android 2.11.169 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.1 and up.
