The popular WhatsApp Messenger application has been finally updated on Windows Phone, so as to provide support for devices powered by the latest flavor of the mobile operating system.

Starting today, owners of Nokia, HTC and Samsung devices that are running under Windows Phone 8 should be able to head over to the official app storefront and download WhatsApp Messenger 2.8.10.0 on their devices.

Unfortunately, no changelog has been published along with the new app release, and no visible changes have been reported so far.

WhatsApp Messenger is a messaging application that was made available for all major mobile OSes, including Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, and Nokia phones.

It can be used both over 3G and Wi-Fi connections to send and receive messages, pictures, audio notes, and video messages. Its use is free for one year, after which a $0.99/year charge is applied.
