The beta version of WhatsApp Messenger received lots of update in the last couple of weeks. The application has been improved with lots of new features and enhancements that has yet to be included in the stable iteration.

In fact, there is quite some since WhatsApp Messenger for Windows Phone did not get major new features via updates.

WMPoweruser reports the folks over at Nokiateca.net have just received a new update for WhatsApp beta which brings new feature that allows users to choose their own notification sounds.

According to some screenshots leaked, WhatsApp now features Nokia tunes as custom notification sounds, so users can choose any of these.

However, there's a chance that WhatsApp users will also be able to add their own notification sounds from the media stored on their devices.

This is just a speculation for now, but it may be possible in the not so distant future to add your own customized notification sounds.

Another option would the possibility to designate a notification sound from an existing library, which should be delivered by developers via updates.

Either way, the important aspect is that users will get more customization options regarding notification sounds. Stay tuned for more info on future updates for WhatsApp beta for Windows Phone.
