Korora, a Fedora Remix distribution with tweaks and extras to make the system “just work” out of the box, which aims to provide a complete and easy-to-use system for general computing, is now at version 20 Beta.

The release of Korora 20 Beta “Peach” has followed closely on the heels of Fedora 20 Beta “Heisenbug.” In fact, this is the version that is based on a beta version of Fedora.

Korora 20 Beta features five versions, for GNOME, MATE, KDE, Cinnamon, and Xfce. It comes with a few default applications such as Adobe Flash, Google Chrome, Google Earth, RPMFusion, and VirtualBox.

“For the first time we are introducing an Xfce desktop, which was made possible thanks to Maik Adamietz (AKA DarkEra) and others in the community.”

“We would also like to thank Jeremiah Summers (AKA JMiahMan) for his assistance in updating the KDE version as well as Dan Marshall (AKA dan408) for his help with the MATE release,” said the developers in the official announcement.

The distribution is based on KDE 4.11, Kernel 3.11.2, Firefox 25, and GNOME 3.10. This latest version of GNOME comes with a lot of changes

“GNOME 3.10 will have a number of new applications and new features that will pleases GNOME-lovers. This release includes a new music application (gnome-music), a new maps application (gnome-maps), a revamp for the system status menu, and Zimbra support in Evolution,” the devs also noted.

Korora 20 Beta also comes with KDE Plasma Workspaces 4.11, which means that all the improvements made to this LTS release of KDE are now available to the users.
