Tough choice

For many people it is not even a matter of choice at this time whether to have an iPhone or a HTC Touch phone model. The iPhone is a long way from reaching several markets, while the HTC Touch, although more widely available, still has some road to go until being considered "at reach".

More than 700,000 iPhones have been sold in the first days since its release, but we can't assign this to its performances. Although it looks like a dream phone, actually it is not. People have rushed to Apple stores in order to get such a device for themselves on account of the pictures and craze generated in the media since it has been first announced.

None of those who bought an iPhone in the first day had ever seen a real one or, even more, had tested it. Their decision of camping in lines in front of Apple stores had been based only on the fact that this phone was a revolutionary concept coming from an extremely popular company on the US market.

HTC Touch comes with Windows Mobile 6 installed, one of the most evolved working platforms available. The iPhone, on the other hand, works on OS X. One point where HTC Touch might lose some points is the available memory which does not even compare to the 8GB that the iPhone brings at most. Still, this huge space can only be occupied by files with Apple extensions, which is a huge drawback. What's the use for such a large space when you can't do just whatever you like with it?

One feature which makes the iPhone definitely surpass HTC Touch is the screen. When comparing iPhone's 3.5 inch display with the 2.8 inch one from HTC's device, the difference is quite huge.

Apple will take their only phone to the European market only in November 2007 and in Asia in 2008. That's a long time to wait. If this phone still sounds like the perfect one to own, just have a HTC Touch until the iPhone becomes available. The prices for the two are just about the same.
