What's After Vista?

SHARE:

Windows Vienna to follow Vista has indeed been confirmed by Microsoft's blogging guru, Robert Scoble. The new code name for Blackcomb is indeed Vienna. In a thread reply to a channel 9 video he said, "since this video was shot the codename for Blackcomb has indeed changed to Vienna. I haven't gotten the story on this yet, though."

Windows Vista aims
to be a technologies-based release, this includes user-interface changes in the form of the Aero set of technologies and guidelines. But for the Vista successor, they've changed that mentality and they are now planning to revolutionize the way we interact with our home and office PCs. The "Start" interface we've grown used to ever since its Windows 95 introduction will most likely be changed to something completely new.

Some other drastic changes are the complete replacement of the Explorer shell. The taskbar will also be replaced by a new concept based on 10 year research from Microsoft's "Vibe" lab. GroupBar and LayoutBar projects will probably make an appearance as well. They will allow users to more effectively manage, track their applications and documents while in use, and there will also be a new way of launching applications. It also seems that Microsoft has taken some ideas from the MAC guys (is this the firs time that this has happened?) and investigated a pie menu-type circular interface similar to that of the MAC.

Although the news is mainly on Vista right now with the upcoming release, focus will probably shift when completion of Vienna is around the corner.

It is interesting to see that people have already started talking about Blackcomb/Vienna, when Vista hasn't even had SP2, Microsoft should start thinking about making their alreadily marketed products work properly, with out bugs etc, that it is to be said, that worry about what is "next". When Microsoft can invent something that is not derived from Mac, or the LInux group it will then be apparent that they know what they are doing.

They run a monopoly so can afford to keep their prices high, even if there products are of low quality.

They seem to spend many years doing nothing.

If I were you. I would move to Mac.

I believe they are working out the bugs, and some simultaneously in bringing Windows 7 - it's what we were waiting for with the new file system..

Yes quality blah blah, we're all so so gay..

Your founder had his artistic head up his arse for 20 years, while MS setup the Planet with new PCs..

At Apple, you cannot even say the "D" word, or Dell..

So they might do 2-3 out of 10 things better, but do not even realize there are 7-8 areas very important to business Worldwide, actually more like hundreds of areas.

If MS spent 20 years playing with their testicles on top of nice fancy cases, maybe they would have satisfied you too by now, but the Planet had other needs, and they have and are fulfilling those very well.

If it wasn't for the smelliest of your friends and those lots of hackers, Windows would be 5 faster right this moment, far more user friendly, far fewer problems to complain about..

So amazing the similarities of Apple gayboys - so insecure that reality can't even be gotten close to as it's to upsetting to them..

Examples: Monopoly - have you heard of APPLE? LINUX? UNIX?

To whatever extent MS holds market share over those, it would be due to

- DOING THE WORK YEAR AFTER YEAR, BUSINESS AFTER BUSINESS, OVER THE PLANET WORLDWIDE – WHAT IT TAKES TO ACHIEVE THIS YOU IDIOT!

here's another - " many years doing nothing"?

How do you achieve WORLDWIDE MARKET leader - doing nothing..???

Don't know, i guess you Apple guys have some way of explaining that by avoiding the answer, ignoring hard work and human energies expended for all the right reasons in the process..

ONE SINGLE product support group - Supporting the Biggest MS Support Product - does more work than all of Apple in a year.

The numbers of products supported and customer supported in one year is staggering worldwide..

Really no need to be so insecure to make good products and for people to enjoy buying and using them.

Do E V E R Y T H I N G MS does, and do it BETTER for the next 10-20 years and guess what - you will have earned market share leader by doing so..

News flash - new Relational-FileSystem and the pretty new Apple like looks are overcoming Apple gains, as we speak..

David,
I hope you were joking when you said before giving an opinion about moving to Mac:

They run a monopoly so can afford to keep their prices high, even if there products are of low quality.

So Windows machines are expensive but Mac's are cheap? Where do you live? Yes, Windows has many problems but at least you pay less for the same product/hardware you get unlike Apple products!
