I have a feeling someone needs a reality check, fast. And no, I'm not talking about Britney this time. You'd be surprised to learn that even though no other celebrity is currently wearing her wedding dress while going out shopping for cars, there are people out there - read that celebrities - who still have it in them to shock us into oblivion. The fact is, Paris Hilton doesn't even need to try that hard - a touch of hideous lipstick here, a sequined dress there, add a glittering headband and a pout and we're all set. I have no idea who told Paris the 1920's 'do makes her look good, but they deserve a slap in the face. Either that, or Paris should stop taking fashion advice from the boy who stacks the "fresh fruit" shelves at her local supermarket. Have a look at what Paris wore to a party this weekend - and wonder.
First of all, I really feel like a fool thinking that so many years as a socialite and party girl taught Paris a trick or two about make-up do's and dont's. I was obviously wrong to ever harbor that particular illusion. The fact is, Paris should
know that wearing a headband is not an easy trick to pull off, and that in order to make it work, you need a perfectly symmetrical face with clear features and good bone structure. I know the wonk eye is not Paris' fault, and I really feel for the soon-to-be-ex-heiress, but she should have learned that drawing attention to her face by wearing a golden sequined headband would only make it stand out even more. Not to mention the fact that she has blonde hair, and that there is little contrast between the band and her hair color - which only serves to make her look broody and make her complexion acquire an unpleasant shade of orange.
Next comes the dress. While Paris is by no means fat, she is tall and has a lean build, not to mention large feet. As a consequence, wearing a short loose dress that does little for her figure but exposes her legs, matched with see-through leggings and high heels worn on bare feet, only makes her look even more burly and gives her the look of one of those female Amazon warriors which were rather keen on hunting down men. And while I may agree with calling Paris a man hunter, I have a feeling that she wouldn't have stood much of a chance in this outfit.
