As it was only natural, BioShock's PR has recently revealed the system requirements for running BioShock on your PC. Lucky for thousands of gamers out there, the PC version of Irrational's highly anticipated FPS will run on both Windows XP (with Service Pack 2) and Windows Vista. The full list of specs is available below, courtesy of VoodooExtreme.com.

First of all, just so everyone's on the same level here, BioShock is described by the developers as a "spiritual successor" to their previous PC title System Shock 2. It has been in development since late 2004 (and in planning for some time before that). On January 9, 2006, Take-Two Interactive announced that they had acquired Irrational Games, and would be publishing BioShock under their 2K Games publishing label, "planned for release in early 2007." The game will be an Xbox 360 and Windows XP/Vista title. It is set for an August 21, 2007 release in North America and an August 24, 2007 release in Europe.

So, here's
what you need to run BioShock on your PC.

Operating Systems:

Windows XP (with Service Pack 2) or Windows Vista

Minimum System Requirements:

CPU: Pentium 4 2.4GHz Single Core processor

System RAM: 1GB

Video Card: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 128MB RAM (NVIDIA 6600 or better/ATI X1300 or better, excluding ATI X1550).

Sound Card: 100% direct X 9.0c compatible sound card

Hard disc space: 8GB free space

Recommended System Requirements:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo processor

System RAM: 2GB

Video card: DX9: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512MB RAM (NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT or better). DX10: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 or better

Sound Card: Sound Blaster X-Fi series (Optimized for use with Creative Labs EAX ADVANCED HD 4.0 or EAX ADVANCED HD 5.0 compatible sound cards)

Important Note: Game requires Internet connection for activation.

Of course, there's that other, much simpler way of playing BioShock without the fuss of meeting all the requirements listed above - buy an Xbox 360 console. Yeah I know, you like your mouse and keyboard for FPSes, and quite frankly, I don't blame you. So, do you have what you need to get the game working for you?
