Windows 9 remains everyone’s hope for a much more eye-candy desktop, and even though Microsoft’s doesn’t comment on future projects, designers are hard at work on concepts imagining the future OS version.

19-year-old Polish designer Daniel Skrzypoń has created this Windows 9 concept that (again) mixes the Metro UI and the traditional desktop with modern elements introduced by Microsoft in the newest OS versions.

The taskbar comes with new icons and progress bars for ongoing processes, as well as with a redesigned clock and the traditional Start button.

The Control Panel, which has also been redesigned from the ground up, seems as bit cluttered at the first sight, but with some refinements here and there it could easily become a much more appealing design.

As usual, don’t expect such a dramatic approach in Windows 9, as Microsoft will most likely stick to its existing design for both the desktop and the modern UI.
