The first beta of Windows Vista has allowed many users to take a peek at Microsoft's plans for the operating system whose task is to rule the PCs over the next 10 years.
What did Windows Vista Beta 1 imply? Hundreds of reviews and the opportunity for every user to install and evaluate the OS. What did Softpedia's users think about Windows
Vista?
It's interesting to notice that among the 311 votes, an equal number of users (26.05%) consider that Windows Vista is a big step forward for Microsoft and that there are too many features copied from Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.
Only 12.22% of the users are convinced that Windows Vista will be the best operating system ever for our PCs.
Microsoft is still Microsoft's major competitor and 11.58% of users see no reason in switching from Windows XP to Vista.
Moreover, Windows Vista doesn't mean anything for 24.12% of the users running Linux or Mac OS X.
We can only hope that the second beta of Windows Vista will be more enthusiastically received.
