It's unlikely that in full iPod frenzy, the digital download services have left users indifferent and the evidence is that the perfect gift for the holidays to come might be a MP3 Player!
Judging from data offered by the Consumer Electronics Association, which has carried out a survey regarding most popular gifts for the holiday season, it turns out that
MP3 players are topping the gift list for both those that make them and those who crave for them.
If last year, digital cameras and plasma TV sets were number one on Santa's list, this year they will have to step aside and make way for the new stars. The consumers' interest regarding MP3 players has increased by 8% this year, while the revenue generated from their sale has also increased, with a whopping 105%.
Since the CEA survey is focused mainly on electronics, it seems the MP3 players will be 2005's "most wanted" gift. Aside from MP3 players, young consumers also crave for video games, large screen TV sets, notebooks, digital cameras, DVD players and sound systems.
And because choosing can be pretty difficult, especially since the new technologies keep appearing at an amazing rate, 32% of the consumers would like to receive credit cards as gifts.
