Expected to be released this winter, but with a new look, this time a full 3D one, Civilization IV is the latest project of the team led by Sid Meier.
In a very interesting interview for the
IGN website, he talks about the differences between the last title of the Civilization franchise and the future
game, and especially about the conceptual developments. Sid Meier, who invented Civilization 15 years ago, wants a faster, but also more complex game, which will challenge the players, so that they might find new ways of achieving world domination.
Civilization IV will try to come up with some new elements, in order to appeal to the users which haven't played any of the previous games in this series, but in the same time, Sid Meier wants to be sure that the game won't change to such a degree as to become uninteresting for the fans of the previous titles.
Regarding the stage of the game's development, Sid Meier considers that all the major elements are already into place, and the next stage, which will probably take several months, will focus on testing and finishing the small details.
In other words, the game might be released towards the end of the year, a moment many people are waiting anxiously for.
