Google Finance for Mobiles

Google Finance is the latest solution built by the Mountain View company that joins the mobile family owned by Google. Today, Google Finance, the web-based service that provides instant access to financial information provided by Google, is now available from any handheld device connected to the Internet. The mobile product allows you to view stock information and portfolios by sending a SMS to GOOGLE (466453). However, the new service is even more advanced as you're able to create your own start page and place the information you want on the main watchlist.

"And if you want easy access to stock quotes, look at Build your page and click on the Add Stocks link. Enter one or more stock tickers, and build up a watchlist for your phone," Nick Fey, Designer, Google Finance, said today.

All you need to do is to visit the mobile page available for this new flavor of Google Finance and read your information. "When you're done, click the Add button. Now your Google search page will display your watchlist with 20-minute-delayed quotes below the search box," Nick Fey added.

It seems that the company wants even more than a simple mobile service as it plans to send alerts for any modification of the quotes, alerts that will be sent to the user's mobile device. This way, the owner of the handheld can be up to date with the latest information concerning their financial configuration. "We're currently looking at alerts for your phone, too, so that you can be notified when your stocks hit specific pre-set values or when there are unusual movements in your portfolio stocks."

Google's mobile plans come after the Sunnyvale rival Yahoo released oneSearch in several countries and announced its plans to make it the number one mobile search platform on the Internet.
