Wetpaint.com (http://www.wetpaint.com) announced that High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC), the provider of Microsoft Windows Mobile-based devices, has chosen Wetpaint to build and host a new wiki Website to help support HTC's growing
online community. The Web site, which can be found at http://www.htcwiki.com, is a place where HTC's passionate customer base are encouraged to share their experiences, offer tips and tricks, and recommend new devices to other customers
as well as to HTC.
"HTC is truly leading the industry by creating HTCWiki.com to help spur and be part of an interactive dialogue with its user community," said Ben Elowitz, CEO of Wetpaint. "This level of transparency reinforces the outstanding relationships the company has with partners and customers."
"HTC device users, partners and potential customers are very engaged and vocal when it comes to
technology, so we wanted to give them an easy way to connect not only with us but also with our partners and other consumers," said David Smith, Director of Marketing for HTC. "Creating HTCWiki.com with Wetpaint was a great solution because it gives our customers a site where the user community can get together and share valuable information."
HTC worked with Wetpaint to create a customized version of Wetpaint's Website technology that combines elements of wikis, blogs, and social networking services. The Wetpaint platform is different from other similar technologies because of its easy click-and-type approach to adding or editing content. Instead of having to know complicated mark-up languages, for example, Wetpaint users simply click and type in order to add or edit text, photos, or hyperlinks on community
website pages.
