ASUS, one of the world's leading vendors of hardware components and computer systems, will reportedly update its Intel-supporting motherboard portfolio with the introduction of a new H57-based motherboard, dubbed P7H57D-V EVO. Designed to accommodate Intel's next-generation of 32nm-based processors, codenamed Westmere, the upcoming motherboard will provide users with a choice for a mainstream platform, featuring Intel's upcoming GPU-equipped CPUs.

Not much is available on the board's specifications, at this time, but we do know that the board will deliver support for socket LGA1156-compatible processors, which will be coupled with DDR3 memory, available through the four DDR3 memory slots. In addition to that, the P7H57D-V EVO will sport two PCI-Express x16 slots with support for CrossFireX multi-GPU configurations, providing consumers with a choice for a system that offers both integrated graphics and support for discrete graphics, for performance-demanding applications.

To complete the package, the board has also been featured with six SATA 3.0 Gbps connectors, as well as two additional SATA 6.0 Gbps ports. There's USB 3.0 connectivity as well, enabling support for upcoming USB 3.0 devices, while the back panel reportedly comes with D-Sub, DVI (and possibly HDMI too), which will enable the end-user to make use of the integrated graphics on the upcoming Intel processors.

There are no details yet on the motherboard's official release date or pricing, but reports on the Internet claim that ASUS should have them shipped in the next few months. There's a good chance that the Taiwanese manufacturer will have a couple of them ready for the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas, Nevada. By that time, we should know more on the performance levels achieved by Intel's much-anticipated 32nm-based Westmere processors, as leaked benchmarks surface the Internet, prior to the official release of these new products.
